Experiences
Here are the experiences I've had as a researcher, teacher, collaborator and facilitator of spaces for listening, dialogue and exchange. This is where I sum up my sense of service and mission.
Turning the Page: Revisiting Scientific Writing
It was from the nourishing poems of Walt Whitman (the gentleman on the right) that "Turning the Page" was born, a metaphor-tool that summarizes my sense of service and mission, what has always been behind my performance as a teacher, researcher, and creator of spaces for dialogue, affective relationships, and intra-interpersonal development: the adaptability and wisdom of plants, and the power, strength, and resilience of roots.
Proofreading of Texts, Translations and Versions
Formally or informally: I have reviewed abstracts, theses, dissertations, articles; I have already suggested changes in PowerPoint and Prezi presentations. I've also done mine and helped friends and colleagues with translations and versions (Portuguese--English/ English-Portuguese). This is where I work and have worked as a translator, editor, and proofreader of styles, structures, and arguments.
Writing Coaching
Writing takes time and is often a big push. The Writing Coaching has been this: a space that I create for myself and others so that challenges, obstacles, and difficulties with writing and finishing a scientific project are not only shared but supported and solved in a unique way, based on lifestyle, calendar, and availability.
The journey with English
Ranging from the basics to proficiency exams; from the more traditional to conversation classes; from the virtual to the real; from child to adult: many have already embarked on the discovery of English with me! The invitation has always been to help dismantle and re-signify the relationship with English, rescue the ability to listen, and strengthen memory and confidence in relaxed, exciting, and fun classes.
Loud Reading Club
This is a different club! In it, the silence of reading becomes sound, voice, rhythm, and vibration! Here is where you find the chance to tune voices by reading words written by names of Lusophone literature made by women loud and clear! The Club rescues the magic of telling and listening to stories and provides a space for listening, sharing, and presence.
